Banned For Life
Here at the Dad Bod Classic, we are very welcoming and basically allow any dude with a pulse to play….. under one exception: if you no-show a tee time, SEEEYAAAAH. There’s people on the waitlist that have wanted to play for years and haven’t gotten in, so if you don’t have the decency to show up, U R GONE.
2023 had our first ever no-shows on day 2, so this is the page where we publicly put them on blast and let them know their spot in the tournament is gone. That’s right, GONE.
Duncan Kennedy
Duncan chose to attend day 2 of a mixed slo-pitch tournament on Sunday, leaving his Dad Bod partner out to dry. The saddest visual in the world is seeing a hungover man play his own ball during a golf tournament while everyone else is playing a 2 man scramble. Hopefully those slap singles to right field were worth it….. #SHAME
Pat Burgon & Noah Macleod
On Saturday we had a bit of a rain delay, but nothing we can’t make it through. These 2 decided to leave mid round to go attend a wedding in Merritt. Now I’m not here to say the Dad Bod is more important than a wedding…. but if there’s one thing I know about weddings, it’s that they aren’t planned the morning of. This is something that should have been acknowledged beforehand and either chosen golf or wedding, not bailing mid round. And for that, all I can say is I hope it was worth it. #BYEBYE
Clint Sieker
Some people have very generous partners. Partners that pay for the team entry, host them at their lake house all weekend, and truly treat them as VIP guests. Clint was one of those guys. His partner Craig went above and beyond to make sure Clint enjoyed himself. And you know how Clint repaid the favour? By bailing Sunday morning to drive home to Kelowna, leaving Craig to play his own ball. But the best part of it all is that Craig’s individual score on Sunday was better than their team score on Saturday. So maybe Clint was a liability all along. Craig, make sure you send Clint a lot of pictures in future years to remind him what the consequences are of his choices, because he is outta here.
Mark Jones & Jeff Clarke
This one is tough, as they were brought as guests by one of our biggest tournament sponsors in Shuswap Logistics. However, rules are rules, and if you bail on day 2 you have to pay the price. So for their lack of commitment, Mark & Jeff are off to the sin bin. #SHAME
Now I’m not gonna sit here and act like I’m better than being a sellout. If anyone on the list above wants to negotiate, everything has a price. But you deserve to think about your choices, and live with the consequences.
